don't know why people are always so down on SysV Unicen. They aren't all
that bad. OK, they tend to be a bit slow in the kernel dept. (eg IRIX 5 vs
IRIX 6), but apart from that imle they're really solid, and the scripts
are nicely laid out..

I did a Unixware 7 (aka System V Release /5/) course a while ago, and it
was really really nice - Yes, SCO actually have a nice Unix! IRIX 6 is
also really really nice. Even better you can go from one SysVR4 to another
and feel right at home...

The worst Unix IMO is Solaris. It's supposed to be a SySV, but it's the
most 'unique' unix i've come across. It has loads of solaris'isms that
just make it a pain to work on if you don't know it.[1]

[1]. it's been a while, so i can't think of specific examples. just
remember that it was difficult to get my head round it cause it was so
different.
