[ILUG] AGM clarifications...

[ILUG] AGM clarifications...

Just a few points, about the AGM...

A few people have mailed me, worried that because they haven't gone to
any Linux events, or posted to the list much, that they aren't "members"
and can't come to the AGM.

I believe that the constitution that we will be voting in simply says
that an ILUG member is anyone that has been subscribed to the mailing
list, or has asked any committee member to "register" them (we don't have
a committee, so that's not valid yet).

The most important thing about Linux is the community that created and
uses it. ILUG is there to give the Irish Linux community a voice. If you
want to be part of that community - consider yourself a member, and say
"hello" to everyone, by posting a question that's been bugging you, or try
and answer a question (even if you are just guessing - everyone makes
mistakes ;).

People that sit at home with their linux box, trying to get IP spoofing
working so that they can get into IRC channels they were banned from - are
not part of that community, and are not wanted. If you use linux, and want
to be part of the community that helps, teaches and chats amongst itself -
come along, and meet the group!

Kate
