[ILUG] Laptops & IR support

[ILUG] Laptops & IR support

Avoid buying the Dell Inspiron 3800, I had a 3700 (great except for a
loose screw may have shafted the PCMCIA slots ), but I got two 3800
recently and they have new sound chips which Linux doesn't support ...

as for the IR, smc-ircc chipset, had it working with an IR-dongle from my
PC in my old office, 2.2 and 2.3 kernels.
