AFAIR there's a simple fix for that.  It's something about the fonts path
and 75dpi fonts.  The answer's here:

Basically, you do a

chkfontpath --add /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi

and the problem goes away.  This relates to RH6.0
