[ILUG] UDMA and Linux

[ILUG] UDMA and Linux

Hi All,

Just bought a spanking new PC and seeing as how it
has a pretty big HD I decided to have Linux share
it with the Microsoft beast what is Win98.
I stuck in my trusty RedHat 6.1 CD and wasnt able to get
much further than fdisk. Then I tried Mandrake 7 and
had the same problem in that it couldnt find a fixed disk.
Now I know this is because it is a UDMA 66 drive connected
to a Promise Ultra ATA 66 controller but I thought that the
installer would still find the disk (after all DOS does!).
Any one got any ideas on how to actually get linux (or BSD!)
on to it effortlessly as normal or will I have to trot off
and download RedHat 6.2 or SuSE 6.4??

Thanks in Advance.
Robert
