[ILUG] OT - Seti times?

> Just a little personal curiosity.
> What kind of times per unit are Linux users getting and on what hardware?

With a Celeron 400MHz, 128Mb RAM, it takes me about 10-11 hours per work
unit. With a 200MHz MMX Pentium, 80Mb RAM, it took about 32 hours.
With a SUN Ultra 5/333 (Solaris), it tends to be 7-8 hours. Some jobs
have completed in less time, some have taken more than 9 hours.

> As an example - I have a p3-500 1/4Gb ram, and complete each unit in about
> 7h 38m under linux, 8h to 10h under win2k, and 14h with win98.

Do those times include the time for displaying the graphics in the Windows
clients?

ATB,
Aidan.
