Looking at PCPlus this month, I think its about time I went to my local shop
and came home with a DVD drive under my arm. They have SuSE 64 [note the
linux content there ;-)] and Borland C++ builder 4 Pro. Anyway, what is
the best price / average price people have seen for a decent speed drive and
where was that? I did hear from somebody in IT Direct lately that there was
a shortage of drives due to the PS 2 and that the prices had gone up. Is
this still true, or indeed was it ever true? I'm not going to run the
gauntlet of paying through the nose by getting it from the UK due to our
wonderful Punt value right now either. I'd get the decoder card too if it
wasn't that much extra but I've a dedicated player for video disks so I'm
not pushed as its mainly for data I want this. Now to further enhance the
eligability of this post with some Linux content.... has anyone had any
issues with any of their disks / decoder cards when running with Linux? You
know, things like driver issues or stuff like that.
TIA,
Noel
