Just a quick update on this, for those following the saga - I can burn CDs
happily which implies functioning generic CD support but yet I still get
the following when I do cdparanoia -vsQd /dev/sr0
Checking /dev/sr0 for cdrom...
Testing /dev/sr0 for cooked ioctl() interface
/dev/sr0 is not a cooked ioctl CDROM.
Testing /dev/sr0 for SCSI interface
No generic SCSI device found to match CDROM device /dev/sr0
Now I'm going to bed, and ripping can wait.
Regards,
Niall
