But if I run top with nothing running, I get 97% free on both.
When I launch setiathome, it goes down to 30% & 50% free.
Seems a bit odd.
David.

It should not be as it is not a multi-threaded application, what you CAN do
is run a setiathome in a seperate directory, each instance shall use another
cpu.
Go on the BP6...

I installed 2.4.0-test10 on a dual processor Pentium Pro last night, and it
worked like a dream.
I could never get any previous kernel running on this box in SMP mode.
I just installed Redhat 7.0 and then compiled up the new kernel.
The curious thing is, when I run setiathome on the box, it appears to be
using both cpus.
Does this sound right?
Thanks,
David.

[paul at fogarty paul]$ uname -r
2.4.0-test10
my laptop nearly got a month of uptime with an earlier 2.4.0-test.
