Hi,

what are you talking about????
every package DJB has released is open source!
perhaps you're confusing "open source" with "GPL"?
His development style is different to many
other opensource developers, ie he likes to
use all his own libraries and doesn't use configure,
seems to hate perl ... But his applications
are very secure, quick and well designed.
Thats why he doesn't want people modifying
his packages and distributing broken
versions thus ruining his reputation for security.
If you check out sites such as www.qmail.org you'll
see loads of add-ons and packages for his most popular
package. The license is thus not restrictive in practise.
btw ... I highly recommend DJB's qmail to anyone
setting up a new mail server, or anyone sick of
sendmail.
Thanks,
