Or somebody is confusing Open Source and open source. One of these terms
has a fairly strict definition (given by Eric Raymond and the Open
Source Foundation(?) who I think have a trademark on Open Source) part
of this definition is that you must be able to modify and redistribute
under the same license as you received it. I would imagine this is what
most people on this list mean by open source.

The uncapitalised version means whatever you want it to mean, it usually
means that the source code is available to anyone who has the binary but
it can come with all sorts of strings attached.

Name a programmer who's reputation has been ruined because other people
changed his code and gave away broken versions.
