actually, this:
    perl -e 'print(join("\n", at INC))'|xargs ls

should be:
    perl -e 'system ls, at INC'

one process and 17 chars shorter.  i don't know what i was thinking!

ps  alternatively it could be the more obscure:
	perl -e 'map{print`ls $_`}@INC'
