Unless things were mad different back in ye olde sparce days,
you can drop the OS to the "BIOS" - Sun's Open Boot Prompt is
essentially a forth interpreter written in ASM, and is generally
pretty nifty. I can't find the documentation for it on docs.sun.com,
I know it's there though.
