so the router is the problem, no? you said yourself you tried a
traceroute and it showed a router responding.
the linux setup seems correct from the commands you had in your mail.
could you show us the output of:
ifconfig
route -n
traceroute good_host_via_router
traceroute bad_host_via_router
(with IP's sanitised to your desire)
