[ILUG] video card ??

Dont buy that s3 card, I have one, complete nightmare to setup, wont work in
any older distros, run funny in newer ones, like max res being 400x600,
Matrox normally setup fine and detect perfectly, I even got a Matrox to be
seen by Solaris (didnt see the s3 at all)

I'm in the market for a new video card. How does the following perform under
linux and which is the better of the two. Are the prices reasonable? Bear in
mind that i don't need a super 3d card for games or anything, just normal
applications and stuff.

Diamond Speedstar 8MB, 8MB AGP (1x/2x) Version, S3?s 128-bit 2D/3D graphics
engine: Trio3D/2X  price 35IRL

Graphics card Matrox 4MB AGP, Matrox G100, 4MB AGP  price 19 second hand.
