What appears in /var/adm/messages depends on how BIND is configured to
log to syslog and how syslog is configured to handle those messages.
Best thing to try is to turn up debugging/tracing with ndc then 'ndc
reconfig' and see what gets logged during the reconfig and when you try
some queries.
