[ILUG] Kpp

Can anybody help me with this one? I use Kppp to connect to the Internet,
but continue to have problems with it. I reinstalled Mandrake 7.1 on a
computer last night and connected to esatclear using Kppp. Later I set up my
network connection to another computer and reconnected to esatclear.
Everything worked fine.
When I came home from work this evening, I set up the Apache Web Server and
put a couple of web-pages on it. I then tried to connect to esatclear and
got the following message: "PPP Daemon died".
I opened the log file and here are the contents:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------
Nov 10 22:30:37 esatclear pppd[815]: By default the remote system is
required to authenticate itself
Nov 10 22:30:37 esatclear pppd[815]: (because this system has a default
route to the internet)
Nov 10 22:30:37 esatclear pppd[815]: but I couldn't find any suitable secret
(password) for it to use to do so.
Nov 10 22:30:37 esatclear pppd[815]: (None of the available passwords would
let it use an IP address.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------
This has happened to me on several occasions previously and I have never
been able to solve the problem. The only solution has been to uninstall and
reinstall Mandrake. My connection will then work again for a while until I
add a program to the system or do something with networking. Can anybody
tell me what is meant by the "secret" password and what file I might find it
in? Do I have to phone esat to get it?

Eugene O'Leary.
