kernel was never synched with NFS development, stock linux NFS was
stagnant for at least a year and a half. However, after much lobbying
and moaning Alan Cox has accepted the updates. Check out 2.2.18pre -
vastly improved NFS. (NFSv3 client/server, iirc NFS over tcp client
support).
