Developing professional level courses and all the associated material is a
huge undertaking - that's why the courses are relatively expensive (plus of
course there's a touch of what the market will bear).
I was speaking to David Owens of RH at LinuxWorld and we touched on
training. He broached the idea of getting some people over from RH in the UK
to do a course if there was enough interest. Obviously the issue of "not
enoguh interest, so course gets postponed" thing is a problem there too, but
if all the people who've expressed an interest in training here were to sign
up, I'm sure there'd be enough interest to justify bringing in the people.
Mail me off-list if you're SERIOUSLY interested in this and I'll get in
touch with David about it if there seems to be enough interest. When I say
SERIOUSLY interested I mean have a look at Red Hat UK's site and look at
training course prices (www.europe.redhat.com/training) - e.g. RH300 which
is the fast track course (4 day course, RHCE exam on the 5th day) costs
UK£1599. If that pricing doesn't scare you off, then drop me a line if
you're interested.
