[ILUG] Buying PC's with Linux Pre-Installed

I bought a PowerEdge from Dell nearly a year ago w/ RH61 pre-installed.

This was primarily for peace of mind and time saving, as the machine came with a couple of SCSI adapters, hardware RAID and one or two other bits that might have caused trouble/twiddling.

Buying with the install gave me RH support as well, again more for peace of mind than anything else.

Having said that, their partitioning scheme left something to be desired, and I ended up re-partitioning. Luckily the 40GB tape drive saved a reinstall :)

On an OT, does any one know why they don't install filters on the sucking-in side of the fans? Yes I know boxen should be in air-conditioned server room, but quite a few boxen just sit under desks. Not that I'd ever do such a thing....
