I've also heard of a brace of pistols, as applied to classic duelling
pistols. And just to attempt to drag this back to something resembling a
topic, brace couldn't then apply to disks, although it could certainly apply
to computers (ask me sometime when you see me about the tale of the haunted
Compaq 386).
