[ILUG] linux on a laptop

[ILUG] linux on a laptop

Just installed RH 6.1 on an old Hyundai P-233, 32MB machine, and was quite
impressed... everything was detected and started very smoothly, and apart
from being slightly creaky due to the 32MB memory limit, it's working fine.

The TI PCI-1220 PCMCIA controller was picked up perfectly, although the
first two PCMCIA NIC's I tried it with didn't work, due to being unsupported
by that version.

The third card (Xircom Combo 10/100/56k modem) worked perfectly and
instantly... quite impressive. Literally plug in the card, hear the beep,
and type 'ping server' and it worked. Nice.

Anyone know where I can get one of those Xircom's on the high street in
Dublin (this one's borrowed, sadly ;-)

Vin
