[ILUG] annoying nvidia problem

[ILUG] annoying nvidia problem

After maybe nearly a year of trying, I still can't get hardware
accelerated OpenGL on my machine. I've recently upgraded to RedHat 7.0,
thinking something in my old 5.1/6.2 RedHat installations were breaking
something (in this, and courierimap).

Anyway. I've attached the log of what happens - anyone else get something
similar, and find a workaround ?

 The main problem is still:
    Symbol __glXActiveScreens from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libdri.a is unresolved!

(that's an XFree86 module, not a shared lib or kernel module).
[snip]

I Have some of the same problems. (With RedHat 5.2/6/6.1/6.2/7.0b2 and
Mandrake 7/7.1)

My problem is that after installing the correct drivers from Nvidia, and I
try to use something with OpenGl the machine freezes. Real annoying thing
(Xmms freezes as well.. Can't use it..)..

Anyone got any ideas? I've got a Hercules Prophet GeForce video card, and
tried everything I can find on Nvidias page and a few other howto's

-Tor
