hi
This is my first post here bust i have been read this mailing lost for a
long time.
Anyway i think We the internet users should stage a protest about internet
charges in ireland
The germans did it to lower prices and it worked. Can you imagine how much
money eircom makes in one weekend.
i have sent numour emails to eircom about ASDL etc and they have not
replyed.
i got a quote from eircom for a 1megabit line (25 grand) in the states you
could get a T3 for that much. What eircom esat and all the other telcoms
companys need to know is that we are not going to sit around on our arses,
and when they see fit that it will be profitable for them, then they act. It
took ocean with their oceanfree.net to have free subscription for everyone.
Esat have at the monent half the country wired with fibre optic cable and i
asume that eircom is simmilar. and i cannot understand why all the bandwidth
is there if it not going to be used. I am not sure how much bandwidth a
fibre optic cable can carry but a hell of a lot more than 56k.
At present rate We Will have ASDL in About 5 years(my oponion). Its means
more money for eircom if it controls the local loops and you have to pay
everytime you want to check for email or what ever.
enough bullshit
