Easy,
check out www.option.com , they're a Belgian company (EuroLand) that
ship next-day ups for free. They do palm modems and the relevant
connections. Reasonable prices too.
Personally I'd recommend having the IR capability if you can, it's far
cheaper, and less hassle to configure.
