[ILUG] Win2k and Portsentry

Donncha O Caoimh donncha.ocaoimh at tradesignals.com
Wed Sep 13 12:12:53 IST 2000

I just discovered that Win2k uses port 135 when it tries to browse a
Samba share.
I have Portsentry running on the samba machine which saw the connection
to that port as a potential attack and blocked off the offending
machine!

Used ftp in the end..

Donncha.
