[ILUG] netscape problems

Hi, just wondering if anyone has seen this problem before.

I'm running a stand alone redhat 6.1 pc at home which is occasionally
connected to the net via dial up and very occasionally connected to another
linux home pc. The problem is that when netscape (4.72) is fired
up it insists on stalling or freezing for about 2 -3 minutes after which it is
perfectly usable. This is a fairly recent redhat install (2 months ago) which
worked fine and did not show this problem until recently. Is netscape trying
to look up eircoms DNS's while offline or is it a misconfiguration in one of
the /etc files?
