[ILUG] netscrape mail filters

[ILUG] netscrape mail filters

Has anyone here ever used the mail filters on netscrape messenger, and
had any problems with them? I had about 10 filters set up and running no
probs on my system up until friday, when the IS people here in their
infinite wisdom decided to upgrade to netscrape 4.75 from 4.73. While
they were doing it (without telling us), we went back to 4.51 and I lost
all my prefs etc. I got all the prefs back, but now I can't enter any
filters. Every time I open the filters pane and enter one, it's gone
when next I open it. Has anyone else ever seen this before, and managed
to get over it? I have a feeling netscrape is not reading my
~/.netscape/mailrules file any more, but can't figure out how to force
it to. This is netscrape on Solaris 8, BTW, which is a POS to begin
with, but is the best we have.

(Oh, and no "use mutt/elm/pine/procmail/whatever instead" suggestions
please.)
