[ILUG] Multidrop Mail

[ILUG] Multidrop Mail

Uno uno at eircom.net
Wed Sep 20 19:35:09 IST 2000

Greetings all,

Well I've dropped the notion of Multidrop mail (from the advice gained here)
So now, what is the best way to get E-mail for a school setup?

Free Accounts?

How would I then handle the mapping from public E-mail addresses to private
E-mail addresses?
(yes I have read the documentation but I'm asking what MTA / delivery agent is
best to use?)

Should I use Fetchmail to get the mail down (I'm guessing I'll have to)

Would it be better to get a Domain MX entry and get pay Eircom to queue the
mail?

Has anyone in Ireland done this with Linux already?

The school in question uses a Cisco ISDN voice router to get connected.

All help appreciated.

Peter Ryan
Drogheda.
