How can I speed up printing?
I've got a hplj1000 on the parallel port, Red Hat 6.2 on the
machine, and as far as I can see a standard setup:
lp0|lp:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp0:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:lp=/dev/lp0:\
:if=/var/spool/lpd/lp0/filter:
Postscript printing involves a big pause between pages (gs exiting
and restarting each time?) so I get just 2 pages/min, whereas
direct printing (e.g. from wordperfect) is about three times as
fast.
Any tips?
Brendan
