I suspect (Don't know for sure) if you run YAST and choose install packages
etc etc the installation will continue. Suse 6.4 when installing off the
CD's will reboot at some point and continue the installation. also If you
switch to alt-f9 there should be a bit of extra info

Subject: [ILUG] SuSE install via NFS
Hi,
Have any of you installed SuSE 6.4 via NFS ? I did it for the first time
last night - started the installation and went to bed. Got up this morning,
expecting to see a "Please mount CD2" or some such message. Instead, it
appeared that the installation was complete. Appearances, however, can be
deceptive :-)
I wanted to install openssh so back to the package list with me, select
openssh, and something happens and then in the install log window I see
CD2:
CD3:
CD4:
Totally installed: 0 (61 noted for installation)
WTF does "noted for installation" mean ? Well, actually, I can guess that.
The question I really want answered is how I persuade the bloody thing to
install these "noted for installation" packages. I tried umounting CD1 and
mounting CD1 on the NFS server, but then when I tried to install a package I
got installation aborted" in a big red alert box :-(. Previous to that I had
tried mounting CD2 on another CD drive on the server and then mounting that
on /var/adm/mount2 on the install client (pure guesswork - CD1 is mounted on
/var/adm/mount , and I hoped the installer might be smart enough to look
around for what it needs) but no joy there either.
So, I decided to start again. Little ray of light here - although I picked
"Install Linux from scratch" I didn't remake partitions and the installer
came up with a message like "The following packages were selected for
installation but weren't installed. Do you want to install them now ?" Oh
good, I though, but same game - a little activity and then I see the
Totally installed: 0 (61 noted for installation)
message again. How do I complete this installation ?
Regards,
Niall
