I have a palm IIIx and a 6210, they work great toghether.  Im using palmOS 3.3
some 6210's shipped with slightly dodgy software but any one u get now should
be grand (just in case you hear bad stuff about em)

I have the Eudora mail client for the palm works grand for me and its free
as for ssh try TGssh (TopGun ssh)

Buying a palm V might not be the best move, the palm 500's and 505's
are available in the US for the same money and they are way better spec'd

Pity to spend a lot on a V and have em drop in price and be out dated
in a month or 2......

Then again u could just wait for one of the funky linux based ones that
were on show at CeBit ;-)
