[ILUG] e-Xpo: the story so far and an appeal for help

Hi Proinnsias,

Show DVD , Games, Mpeg4, opendivx, Video capture, mp3. If we wan't to
assimilate more desktop users, thats the way forward. We all know that linux
rules in the server arena, its time we 'Konquered' the desktop.
Games and video is what attracts the crowd.

If you wan't to really impress. Then configure squid, with a mickeymouse 56K
link or less (you can always simulate with a serial cable running at 19.2kb)
and show a complex web page with and without the proxy. I showed me mate
there last night. We both use nolimits, and I already had a 20Meg file
cached on the proxy. (I highly recommend increasing the cache objects size
to 32MB)
from ftp.esat.net/pub/kernels/2.4/whatever... And Over a 100Mbit switched
network, he was so impressed that he wants the same at his gaf.

Resistance is futile.
