Subject: [IIU] ISOC chapter list
Hi all,
Over the past week a number of people have expressed an interest in an
Irish chapter of the Internet Society (ISOC). To this end, Wolfgang
Truetzschler <oscar at indigo.ie> is organizing a meeting for next week for
interested people to meet and brainstorm.
Justin has kindly agreed to host a list for interested people to discuss
the formation of this chapter. This list subscription page is at
http://isoc.taint.org/mailman/listinfo/isoc
For those not familiar with ISOC, it is an international, nonprofit
organization that engages in a whole bunch of Internet-related activities,
including education, lobbying, organizing conferences etc. Perhpas most
importantly, ISOC is the body from whom the IETF and the IAB derive their
authority. The ISOC Board of Trustees contains such luminaries at Vint
Cerf, Don Heath and Christian Huitema. More info at http://www.isoc.org.
Thanks,
Alex.
