[ILUG] Sorta OT: OS X Server and Xservers

[ILUG] Sorta OT: OS X Server and Xservers

Mark Twomey bauwolf at indigo.ie
Wed Apr 4 10:45:21 IST 2001

Niall: Macs should no longer be as OT as they were before. OS X makes them
as relevant as Solaris/SCO/Tru64 or any of the BSD's

Justin/Niall: Apple will attempt to dry up the retail channel at the end of
May before they introduce the new "Built for MacOS X" hardware and the Core
2001 chipsets. If you can hang on a bit you'll start to see the vendors
heavily discount the hardware and with the entry level iMac [Indigo] that
means it'll only cost a few hundred quid at most.

Regards,
Mark.
