The error you mentioned comes from /usr/sbin/faxcron (it can also come from
the Hylafax startup script, but I presume you're not booting several times a
day :-) ) and it's telling you that Hylafax is not setup correctly.
Unsurprising, as you didn't set it up at all. Remove the line which calls
faxcron from your crontab.

SuSE 7.0 Professional seems fond of starting things without asking you. When
I installed it my modem wouldn't work - turned out that there were at least
two processes trying to use /dev/ttyS0, one of which was a Braille reader.

Apropos the Braille reader - apparently SuSE is the first distribution which
can actually be installed by a blind user.


You might also make sure that your system isn't trying to start Hylafax. To
check that out, do make sure you have START_HYLAFAX="no" (rather than "yes")
in /etc/rc.config. If you have to edit that, run /sbin/SuSEconfig (as
root) afterwards.
