[ILUG] new gcc ?

[ILUG] new gcc ?

Interesting, but the machine was JUST installed, and NFS was not running as
it is not yet configured.

--------------

Well it does say "may". This is often caused by building on an NFS mounted
filesystem where the clock on the server is not in sync with the client.
This causes trouble for make when it compares the times on the .c and .o
files to see if the .o needs to be rebuilt.

If you see that error, you won't be missing any files but some of your
updated .c files may not get recompiled.

----------------------------
The only time I've seen this error is when the rpm wasn't fully downloaded.
Unfortuntately rpm doesn't see fit to tell you this, probably because the
tar process dies and doesn't give any info about why,

----------------------------

Thats what I initially thought, so I ftp'eed the rpms again, and burned
another image - same problem.
Anyway, rh6.2 works grand for me, and since I've been eating the bandwidth
in cpq downloading every linux update on the planet, I have no problems
updating the other components manually, like xfree 4.0.3, and kde 2.1.1 etc
etc.

Later Dude,
CW
