Hi, I have a Latitude C800, which is pretty-much identical to the new
Inspirons. Just about everything works fine. The built-in NIC is a
3com 3c556 I think - 3c59x.o works fine with it anyway.

The sound chip is an ESS Maestro 3, which I think is supported in
2.2.19 (I'm on 2.2.18 at the moment, using the latest alsa drivers)
video is an ATI mobility M4 which is supported. I found a modeline
on the 'net for 1400x1050 and it looks great. I haven't used the
pcmcia slots yet, but Vincent has them working fine (using a Xircom
combo card). The built-in modem (it's part of the 3com mini PCI card)
is a winmodem I think, I haven't tried it out yet. :)
