I've just finished dismantling and re-assembling my son's RCX for the second
time. This is a tedious job, but it's necessary because the battery terminals
become corroded if the RCX is not used for a while. Note that this is not
corosion duse to leaky batteries or anything - the contacts just oxidise,
and it's not easy to clean them in situ (might be if I had a little hobby
drill with a tiny wire brush, or even a carborundum head, but as I don't,
dismantling to use sandpaper is the only option). Does this happen to any of
you other Mindstorms users ? How can it be prevented ? (Removing the
terminals, cleaning thoroughly and electroplating with gold is not
considered feasible :-( )
