Install 6.2. Install all 6.2 updates (especially rpm-3.0.5
or rpm-4.0.2). Then install XFree86 RPMs from RH7 CD and
whatever else is required to satistfy dependencies.
I did exactly this and relatively little needed to be upgraded.
7.0's glibc certainly wasn't required.
