A better alternative is Copaslip, which is put on the back of Brake pads to
stop squealing. It has copper in the grease, and also comes in a nice handy
little tube, rather than a big tub!
A decent motor factor should carry it.

Not much, that's why vaseline gets used on the terminals of automotive
batteries.
