[ILUG] tcp logging on ppp connection

[ILUG] tcp logging on ppp connection

Hiya,

What is the best way to start logging tcp traffic once a ppp link has been
bought up by pppd?

What I want to do is start:

tcpdump -i ppp0 -w somefileorother

immediately after the ppp link is established.

The machine I want this to run on, is acting as a test ppp dialin sever.

I had a go at adding "record logfile" to the pppd options, but
unfortunately, when I run this through tcpdump, it barfs. I want a logfile
which can be read by tcpdump, and ultimately ethereal.

Current setup:
(Mgetty)
/AutoPPP/ - - /etc/ppp/ppplogin

(pppd)
/usr/sbin/pppd -detach noauth proxyarp asyncmap 0 crtscts modem debug \
kdebug 7 lock 192.168.0.125:192.168.0.99 ms-dns 192.111.39.1 novj mtu 576

Thanks,

Tim
