[ILUG] disk corruption in 2.4.x...

there was some discussion here regarding disk corruption in 2.4.
from alan cox's diary:

Got up late and continued trying to get the -ac patch built. I've
skipped Linus 2.4.4pre1 as some of the changes in that clash with
the tlb flushing fixes in the -ac tree and resolving those might
be hard. Instead its mostly the ARM and S/390 architecture changes
    along with usermode Linux.

There are some important patches in the tree, notable the ext2fs
and minixfs disk corruption fixes that Ingo Molnar and Al Viro
did. 2.4.x finally no longer eats disks under very extreme testing
with the Cerberus test suite. Needless to say this is good news.

what the extreme conditions are, i don't know but it would make me
nervous.

kevin
