I had to do some hardware rejigging last night on my leekle file
server. (underclock the CPU, cause CPU fan is dodgy). I also changed
PNP OS to Yes in the BIOS (just curious).
However, now the bloody disk controller (Mylex) gives a message "BIOS
does not support XBDA, DAC960 BIOS disabled" and the PC BIOS will not
boot from the DAC960 anymore... (XBDA is eXtended Bios Descriptor Area
apparently)
Now i spent many many hours twiddling various BIOS settings, i reset
the CMOS with the jumper on the board, the Mylex diags say the card is
fine... etc...
But i just can't get the Mylex to become bootable again. Never had
this problem before, why now? Am i going to have to floppy boot this
machine from now on?
any ideas? How to i get the BIOS to support XBDA again, as it always
seems to have before...
