[ILUG] Linux networking - how???

Hi,

I bought myself a hub, a network card and cabling to hook a win2000 laptop
up to my desktop. Both machines run fine as long as you run vindows but how
do I get a network card going in Linux. teh Manufacturer (LinkSys 10/100
EtherFast) have a big sign on the box "Tested with Linux" but "Don't provide
support for Freeware/Beta OSs." Is their a central resource for linux in
hardware. i'm running Mandrake 7

Thanks,

Darragh Rogan
