This was the way that net access used to be controlled in UL once upon a
time. but it was _so_ easy to get around. Simply change the ip of whatever
machine you were using to one in a staff range & bob's yer uncle, you had
unmolested net access, the down side was that the person to whom that ip
had been assigned could encounter a "few" problems as soon as they
attempted to do anything on the network.
ok knowing mac address' & watching arp tables is how you'll find out
what's where (provided that there aren't a ton of switches lying about
your network)
