[ILUG] RPM Failing during install

[ILUG] RPM Failing during install

Hello,
Im trying to install Linux on a Dell Dimension 8100 and the RPM install is failing with the following -:

"RPM install of setup failed - package yada-yada-yada - is for a different architecture."

You can skip the error but the very same happens when it tries to install the next package.
It fails with RedHat 5.1 & 6.2 and SuSE 6.1. (all i386)

According to the machine the Processor is an Intel P4.

Has anyone seen this before?

Donal.
