[ILUG] Compile problem: make bzImage

[ILUG] Compile problem: make bzImage

Hi Ryan,

Did you do a make mrproper before beginning?
The correct order is
vi /usr/src/linux/Makefile (and edit the destination of your modules)

I agree with Kate, I also have given up on RH7 as the compile usually fails
- there are exceptions.

make mrproper
make menuconfig
make dep clean bzImage modules modules_install
vi /etc/lilo.conf
lilo

reboot and say a decade of the rosery.

Remember, Mr Proper cleans so clean you can really see yourself! :)

-------------------------
Can anybody tell me what packages I need to install. I
have already run make menuconfig, make dep and make
clean. The following is an output from "make bzImage"

This is the my first compile of this new RH7.0
install. I thought I had all the necessary source
files.

Thanks,
P.J.
