[ILUG] Network script

[ILUG] Network script

Hi guys,
I hope someone can help with this problem. I have a box with dual nics
for redundancy, eth0 and eth1. Both are set to the same IP address, but
only eth0 is brought up at boot time. I am trying to sort out a script
so that if eth0 fails, it will bring up eth1 automatically. I have
thought about pinging the gateway, but obviously if this goes down, then
the nics will failover. The script I tried, would do this, but would not
flip back to eth0, this had to be done manually.
If anyone is doing this already, would you be able to give me some
pointers, or if at all possible, send me a copy of the script.

	Any help much appreciated,

	Eamonn
