Hi again all,
Thanks to all those who've generously offered donations of time and
resources for our stand at e-Xpo.
We have stand number 78, a 3x2 metre corner stand, with basic furnishings.
I would also like to thank David Owens, from RedHat Ireland, who generously
donated a number of version 7.0 boxed sets. I am told that he was
disappointed not to be able to donate a number of 7.1 boxed sets which are
for release about 2 days before the show !
We will have a number of suprises on the stand to make your attendance
worthwhile (pre-registration recommended, either on a ticket available from
AnteFacto on Parnell St, or on the web - link from www.linux.ie)
And now for the appeal:
We are having difficulty getting a hardware sponsor for the show.
Someone who would be willing to loan us two mid-spec machines, nothing
overly fancy, for the duration of the show (Tuesday evening -> Thursday
evening).
Our main requirements would simply be that the machine be capable of running
linux, and that it be visible to the audience (17" or better monitor)
We had asked both Compaq and Beyond 2000. Compaq eventually told us that
they didn't have stock they could lend us, we are still awaiting word from
Beyond 2000, but as of now I don't want all our eggs in one basket. If
anyone knows of a source of PCs for the show, in return for advertising at
the show, please feel more than free to contact me about it !
